Insulated to EECA Standards

If you received a Grant from EECA to insulate your home then your home should be insulated to the Warmer Kiwi Homes Standard.  If you are uncertain whether your home has been insulated to these standards, use the Warmer Kiwi Homes Eligibility Tool for further clarification.

No Operational Heat Appliance in Main Living Area

The new heating appliance must be situated in the main living area.  There cannot be another operational heating source in this area.  Therefore if the heating appliance is situated in another area, or if there is no heating appliance, or the heating source in the main living is not operational or safe  then this criteria is satisfied.

If the existing heating appliance does not heat the main living area to 18oC it is not considered sufficient.

Heaters that are likely to achieve the 18oC requirement are heatpumps, flued gas heaters, low emission pellet burners and woodburners.

Community Service Card or SuperGold Combo Card

The Community Service Card or SuperGold Combo Card must be in the name of the homeowner.

The SuperGold Combo Card must have the initials NZS/CSC on the reverse.

Address Identified as Low-Income

EECA has identified low-income areas of homes that would benefit from this Grant.  Consequently if you can satisfy criteria 1-4 under the above Eligibility heading, you still may also be eligible if your home is located in an identified low-income zone.  Go to the Warmer Kiwi Homes Eligibility Tool to see if your address is eligible.
